Are People Indispensable?

American Idol is about to lose Simon Cowel. Will American Idol cease to prosper? Or will the show go on without him? It's about time to ask the question 'Are People Indispensable?' My personal opinion is this, people are functionally dispensable, but sentimentally indispensable.

Functional dispensability means that tasks can be done by different people, and it's not exclusive to one particular person. In the world of science, continual advancements in technology and scientific knowledge is the result of cumulative contributions made by a myriad of scientist. We'll never run out of intellectuals, and hence never run out of bright ideas. Problems will be solved, and discoveries will be made, either one way or another; it's only a matter of time. The contributions of great figures like Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein will be replicated, as like all human beings, we share the potential to achieve greatness. In the realm of pedagogy,  teachers come and go, but their function as a source of guidance and information will for ever so long be taken up by many other teachers to be. There will forever be better teachers out there, and this applies to all students alike. So never condescend another human being, everyone has the potential to think big and kick ass either in one aspect or another. Companies usually survive after they sack people, proving that you are not the only person that can do your job well, there are always other people that can do your job and replace you, therefore one should always be humble and grateful, avoid arrogance and persistently seek to improve, never settling for less that what you can be, for the competition is strong and only the fittest will survive.

Sentimental indispensability concerns the irreplaceability of your love ones in life. It is caused by the uniqueness of every individual and the distinctive physical, mental and spiritual connections between people. For example, no one can replace our family. All the good and bad times that we go through together will be forever etched in our memories. No one can truly replace our spouse. The memories of the places we've been, emotions we've experienced and fights we've gone thorough are all unique. True, friends come and go, but each friend leaves a connection that is fundamentally sui generis. The flow of physical, mental and spiritual love exists amongst us, and it's a sin to obstruct the flow by being unappreciative and antisocial. Many people has shown their love for us by giving us many things, it's only right that we sacrifice our own interests for others by serving our loved ones through an unconditional love. It's even more commendable to endeavor loving your enemies.

People are forever more important that work, knowledge, prestige or wealth, because without friends, life becomes devoid of meaning and satisfaction becomes a fantasy. I hope that everyone benefited from this short post.
