Find Rest In God...
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”-Jesus (Mat 11:28-30)

God will take care of you!
"The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
  for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
   through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
   for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
   they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
   my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
   forever." -Psalm 23

Do not Worry!
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Mat 6:25-34)

The Origins of A Researcher: A Story of A Medical Student

My first contact with research and statistics was during my time in IMU, a private medical university in Bukit Jalil KL. The lecturer only provided 5 very short and simple lectures on the topic. I'm surprised at the fact that research involved the application of many mathematical principles which I learnt during my high school years, such as normal distributions, poison distributions, probability andcalculus among others.

After ending my first semester there, I switched to University Malaysia Sabah as the tuition fees are more affordable there. In the first semester, I opted a minor course on how to write research articles. It turns out that a short course in learning how to write the academic language was vital for any researcher, as many can do research, but not everyone has the verbal capabilities to disseminate the results of their work.

Happy Valentines My Dear!

It is to my utmost regret that I could not spend our first valentines together with you today, I hope that this gift, which is due to be sent to you this weekend shall cheer you up.. hehe.. I love you soo much..

Delirium VS Dementia: A Comprehensive Summary

Feature
Dementia
Delirium
Definition
a general loss of cognitive abilities, including impairment of memory as well as one or more of the following: aphasia, apraxia, agnosia, or disturbed planning, organizing, and abstract thinking abilities. It does not include decreased cognitive functioning due to clouding of consciousness, depression, or other functional mental disorder.
Alzheimer's dementia  progressive degenerative disease of the brain, of unknown cause; characterized by diffuse atrophy throughout the cerebral cortex with distinctive histopathological changes.
dementia of the Alzheimer type  dementia of insidious onset and gradually progressive course, with histopathological changes characteristic of Alzheimer's disease, categorized asearly onset or late onset depending on whether or not it begins by the age of 65.
arteriosclerotic dementia  multi-infarct dementia as a result of cerebral arteriosclerosis.
Binswanger's dementia  a degenerative dementia of presenile onset caused by demyelination of the subcortical white matter of the brain.
boxer's dementia  a syndrome due to cumulative cerebral injuries in boxers, with forgetfulness, slowness in thinking, dysarthric speech, and slow uncertain movements, especially of the legs.
dialysis dementia  a degenerative disease of the brain associated with long-term use of hemodialysis, marked by speech disorders and constant myoclonic jerks, progressing to global dementia; it is due to high levels of aluminum in the dialysis fluid water or to aluminum-containing drugs used in treatment.
multi-infarct dementia  vascular d.
paralytic dementia , dementia paraly´tica general paresis: paralytic dementia; a form of neurosyphilis in which chronic meningoencephalitis causes gradual loss of cortical function, progressive dementia, and generalized paralysis.
dementia prae´cox  (obs.) schizophrenia: a mental disorder or group of disorders characterized by disturbances in the form and content of thought (e.g., delusions, hallucinations), in mood (e.g., inappropriate affect), in sense of self and relationship to the external world (e.g., loss of ego boundaries, withdrawal), and in behavior (e.g., bizarre or apparently purposeless behavior); it must cause marked decrease in functioning and be present for at least six months.schizophren´ic
presenile dementia  that occurring in younger persons, usually age 65 or younger; since most cases are due to Alzheimer's disease, the term is sometimes used as a synonym ofdementia of the Alzheimer type, early onset, and has also been used to denote Alzheimer's disease.
senile dementia  that occurring in older persons, usually over the age of 65; since most cases are due to Alzheimer's disease, the term is sometimes used as a synonym ofdementia of the Alzheimer type, late onset.
subcortical dementia  any of a group of dementias thought to be caused by lesions particularly affecting subcortical brain structures, characterized by memory loss with slowness of information processing and of the formation of intellectual responses.
substance-induced persisting dementia  that resulting from exposure to or use or abuse of a substance (e.g., alcohol, sedatives, anticonvulsants, or lead) but persisting long after exposure ends, usually with permanent and worsening deficits.
vascular dementia  that with a stepwise deteriorating course and a patchy distribution of neurologic deficits caused by cerebrovascular disease.
a mental disturbance of relatively short duration usually reflecting a toxic state, marked by illusions, hallucinations, delusions, excitement, restlessness, impaired memory, and incoherence.
alcohol withdrawal delirium  that caused by cessation or reduction in alcohol consumption, typically in alcoholics with many years of heavy drinking, characterized by autonomic hyperactivity, such as tachycardia, sweating, and hypertension, a coarse, irregular tremor, and delusions, vivid hallucinations, and wild, agitated behavior.
delirium tre´mens  alcohol withdrawal d.

Adherence to Hypertension Medications: A Literature Review

Hypertension is a significant global challenge which is ranked as the third highest cause of disability-adjusted life-years (Ezzati, Lopez, Rodgers, Vander Hoorn, & Murray, 2002). High blood pressure or hypertension is a condition that occurs when the resting pressure in the arteries is consistently above the normal range (>139/89 mmHg) (Rampala, Rampalb, Azharc, & Rahman, 2008). Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the wall of the arteries. Hypertension is known as the silent killer because it has no symptoms and can cause serious disease if it is left untreated for a long time. Studies have shown that hypertension due to coronary heart disease (CHD), stroke and renal failure is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality (Rashid, Leonardi-Bee, & Bath, 2003; Osman, Rampal, & Syarif, 1984). Primary prevention of hypertension opens the window of opportunity to interrupt and prevent the costly cycle of management of hypertension and the complication that entails (Group, 1993). Higher level of sodium intake (>100mmol) in overweight persons is associated with increased incidence of stroke (32%), stroke mortality(89%), CHD mortality (44%), and all causes (39%) (He, Odgen, Vupputuri, Bazzano, Loria, & PK, 1999). Hence, to prevent hypertension, recommendation includes weight loss, reduced intake of dietary sodium, moderation in alcohol consumption, and increased physical activity as the best proven interventions (US, 2002). Regular exercise has also demonstrated a reduction in systolic blood pressure 4-8 mmHg (Lam, 2007). On the other hand, secondary prevention by antihypertensive drugs (AHD) has shown to decrease the risk by about 25% for all cardiovascular complications (Wallis, Ramsay, & PR, 2002).

Will armageddon arrive in 2012?

No, for 3 reasons.
1. The Bible has a much more reliable prophecy fulfilling record than the Mayan Calendar
2. The Bible says in Matthew 24

Corruption in Today's Churches
